We are a premier plant health care company committed to solving the most difficult tree services and shrub problems for our client’s. We specialize in restoring and maintaining beautiful properties. Our highly trained ISA Certified Arborists will diagnose and develop custom plant health care programs for our well-informed clients.
Andrew founded My Fertilizing Company in 2015 with Ryan Shiplett and has grown it since then. My Fertilizing Company started a tree division in 2021 with Matt as the Arborist. Andrew and Matt loved working on the tree division together so much they decided to create a separate company called My Arborist in 2022.

Owner of My Arborist
Matt Esper
ISA Certified Arborist · MI-4528A
Matt grew up in Plymouth and attended Detroit Catholic Central High School. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelors in business management. Soon after, he graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a bachelor’s of science in nursing. His love for trees, health care and science led Matt to become a professional arborist. After working together for several years Matt and Andrew decided to start their own tree and shrubs care company, My Arborist LLC.
Matt is grateful to have many wonderful relationships within the Arboriculture community and with his clients! When Matt is not hugging trees he enjoys playing with his young family. His beautiful wife Katie and their two kids, Theo and Josie, love being outdoors in Michigan.

Andrew Walsh
Andrew graduated from Livonia Franklin High School in 1999. Andrew went on to attend Michigan State University and started fertilizing lawns as a summer job. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, he accepted a position in management at a local company. Over the years he has had experience in many positions in the Green Industry including Lawn Technician, Tree Technician, Production Manager, Marketing Director, and Owner.
Andrew is married to his college sweetheart Janina. Janina is a certified Master Gardener through Michigan State University and has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Western Michigan. They live in Commerce Township with their 2 kids, Janina May and Winston.

KJ
ISA Certified Arborist MI 4791A
KJ grew up in the Metro Detroit area and graduated from Lincoln High School. His love for the outdoors led him to a career in landscaping and snow removal, where he developed a passion for caring for trees and plants. As an ISA Certified Arborist, KJ continues to expand his knowledge and skills to provide knowledgeable, dependable tree and plant health care. His experience includes lawn care, pest control, snow removal, training, and specialized tree care.
Outside of work, KJ enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Ashley, and their daughter, Alana. They love exploring local parks, hiking trails, and nature preserves throughout Metro Detroit and beyond. KJ’s appreciation for nature extends beyond his career, making tree and plant care something he genuinely enjoys sharing with customers and the community.
Office Manager
Rachel
Rachel joined our team in 2025 and brings more than a decade of office management experience to her role. She is passionate about providing excellent customer service and enjoys helping customers understand their trees and plant health needs. Rachel’s friendly approach, attention to detail, and genuine interest in tree care make her a valuable part of our team and a welcoming point of contact for our customers.
Rachel lives in Canton with her family and enjoys spending her free time cheering on her kids at their sports games. Whether she’s helping a customer over the phone or supporting her family from the sidelines, Rachel brings the same enthusiasm, care, and positive attitude to everything she does.
